#18 Prime Minister's Speech

So our final presentation for the Presentation Skills subject (which plays as our final exam) is 40%.
40% for a 4-5 minute speech.
A speech given as though I am the PM of this country.
The title of the speech is "My biggest concern for the future is...."

Oh my goodness... So nervous for this one. 40 freaking percent!!!! zomg.

"You must deliver this formal speech in a highly comforting and encouraging tone, yet professional and firm in your stance."

So many things to do.
  • CRM presentation on Wednesday
  • Psych presentation on Thursday
  • DG Website due next Tuesday
  • CRM proposal due next Friday
  • MLE assignment 2 also due next Friday
  • And to prepare for my PM speech!!
Need to start brainstorming on my BIGGEST concern for the country. Any ideas?

Our speech is going to be in an open area, where everyone will be passing by and there'll be chairs for people to be seated. Lecturer said that other Comm lecturers thought this was a brilliant idea and apparently have started to BLOCK OUT their dates to come and watch our speeches.

Can you hear the sound of my heart dupdupdupdupdupdupdup

Zomg. Not only that, if we don't reach 4 minutes, there goes 10% off the total 40%. And if we exceed 5 minutes, bye bye 5%.

* * * *

On another note, I still kinda think its a good experience for public speaking. To face an audience and overcome your fears.

Or not.

I could either end up doing O-kay for my presentation, or end up having more fear of public speaking.

-_-

  1. Allowing for there to be peaceful demonstrations or protests instead of physically harming protesters at any chance they get and being paranoid about them.

let the people voice their opinions since the people are essentially the ones who choose the government and without some sort of compromise, there can never be any sort of cooperation.

  2. ooooh ya thats good, but i dont know if i can use it, cause my lecturer said it has to "concern" the public.

like for say education system of our country, or the economy, or the environment... etc etc. things that concern the public.

i dont think i can talk about the demonstration/protests one because then i would be talking aboooout the society... :S a bit confused haha

i just thought, ur idea is kinda abt freedom of speech right? hmm... imagine if i say "my biggest concern for this country is freedom of speech" but then it would sound like ME, as the PM, im going against my own government laws. hahaha you get what i mean?

  3. ooooh i see i see. yea that's true. are demonstrations illegal?

haha yea a bit the confusing. i guess you can say that the government should instead of trying to work through so many issues at the same time, there should be some sort of concentration on a few issues like education and transportation. this will eventually bring about a brighter future for the nation or at least that's how i see it.

then again, you can always say that the greatest concern is cooperation or teamwork in the country. i think that the government really does try it's hardest to work through issues but the people are a bit too demanding and they should learn to actually see what the government has done thus far for the country.

idk how much research you have to do but you can have a look at the Government Transformation Programme. it shows like what the government has done so far.

  4. i dont think demonstrations are illegal... o.o according to article 10 of our constitution, we have the right to freedom of assembly. but now im not sure if the gov changed it or anything after Bersih haha.

but i like ur 2nd point! my lecturer gave an interesting topic abt how today's generation represents the future of our country, but many teens/youths/young adults today are very demanding and less hardworking than the previous generation.. or something like that.
but of course now i cant use it since he said everything hahaha damn it.

i shalll read up on that government transformation programme. ive only known of the economic transformation programme hahaha

thankiiiiiu for ur contribution :D shall put it amongst my options hehehe
